A schoolgirl from Khotimsk among the winners of the drawing contest "Khatyn through the eyes of children"

The names of the winners of the patriotic drawing competition "Khatyn through the eyes of children" have become known, said the secretary of the Central Committee of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union Veronika Gudkova.

“The jury summed up the results of the children's and youth drawing competition dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Khatyn tragedy. 1517 emerging artists took part in the patriotic project. They submitted to the competition thematic drawings in A3 format, made in different techniques. In the course of participation in the project, children and youth studied the tragic history of the Belarusian village, its inhabitants - children, women, the elderly - burned alive, the history of the creation and reconstruction of the Khatyn memorial complex. The children reflected in their creative works the importance of preserving historical memory. Every creative work deserves attention. Each work is accompanied by an annotation. A number of drawings have names,” said Veronika Gudkova.

According to the results of the competition, winners were determined in three age categories. “The youngest participants in the project are young artists aged 7 to 11. The winner of the contest "Khatyn through the eyes of children" in this category was seven-year-old Diana Kovalenok, a student of secondary school No. 14 in the city of Polotsk. Second place was taken by eight-year-old Aleksey Kovalevich, a student of secondary school No. 11 named after General of the Army A.I. Antonov in the city of Grodno. Third - Maria Begeza (10 years old), a student of the Malorita State School of Arts.

The winner of the competition in the second age category from 12 to 15 years old with the work "Pain" was Maria Vorobyeva (15 years old), a pupil of the Oshmyany Children's Art School. Second place was taken by Stanislav Kichuk, a 13-year-old student of secondary school No. 56 in Minsk, who submitted the drawing “Grandfather, are we alive?” to the competition. Third place went to 12-year-old Alexander Storozhenko from the Gomel region, a student of the gymnasium in Zhitkovichi named after A.A. Likhota.

The winners in the youth category (16-18 years old) were: Polina Osmolovskaya, a student of secondary school No. Khotimska (first place), Elizaveta Zhur (16 years old), a student of the capital's secondary school No. 128 (second place), Ekaterina Buganova (16 years old), a student of Borovlyansk secondary school No. 2.

The secretary of the Central Committee of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union recalled that the best thematic works of the contest participants were presented at the republican exhibition in Minsk in the shopping center "Stolitsa", where on March 20 at 13.30 a ceremony of honoring the winners of this patriotic project and volunteers of the All-Belarusian youth construction in the MMC "Khatyn" will take place.

The drawing competition "Khatyn through the eyes of children" started at the initiative of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union in early March and included three rounds - district, regional, republican. Each author's work is accompanied by information about what impressed the author on its creation.

The state memorial complex "Khatyn", created in 1969 on the 54th kilometer of the Minsk-Vitebsk highway on the site of the village of Khatyn burned by the Nazis, is included in the list of historical and cultural heritage of the Republic of Belarus.
