A young rural teacher told about her love for students, english, music and bodybuilding

2 October 2023

For them, it is the most cool

Angelina Koroleva has been working at the Kadinskaya secondary school in Mogilev district for the second year. The "Englishwoman", in turn, is sure that in order for children to be drawn to knowledge, lessons should not be boring, and the teacher should not stop learning new things.

"Du yu speek English?"

Eleven-year-old Roman Yershov enjoys English lessons: "Angelina Dmitrievna knows the language perfectly, explains everything in an accessible way."

Angelina has been studying it since she was six years old:

- Children from the areas affected by the Chernobyl accident were sent to the UK for rehabilitation. I was lucky with the family I came to-they not only taught me the language, but also spiritually developed me, took me to exhibitions. I went there for ten years, communicating with native English speakers, honing my pronunciation. By the way, Mrs. Ann's ancestors are Russian, from St. Petersburg, and the Slavic culture is close to her. I now tell my students about the sights of Great Britain and standard British English. I share my impressions and ask them to do the same. They get carried away, relax, and get active. I am sure that a mentor should be a friend to students, a person they trust. But their trust must be won, and their respect and authority must be earned.

Singer, poet and bodybuilder

Kadinsky sixth graders respect their homeroom teacher. "Angelina Dmitrievna is creative: she sings, plays the piano, we put on a mini-performance with her, participated in the patriotic song contest," says Alena Suvorova and Timofey Vergun.

Angelina, who has been professionally engaged in pop vocals since childhood, has musical preferences ranging from jazz to modern pop. Alena Lanskaya, Pyotr Elfimov, and Irina Dorofeeva are close Belarusian performers. Admits that at one time she was lucky:

– I got into the exemplary vocal studio "Non-stop", with its head Tatyana Minova participated in various festivals and competitions – from regional to international, I have about 50 diplomas and cups in my piggy bank.

By the age of 22, Angelina's victories are not only musical. She is a member of the Belarusian Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness:

– Actually, I often skipped physical education at school. She said that I play the piano, I'm afraid to damage my musical fingers. But somehow Aunt Ekaterina, who is fond of karate and athletics, suggested that we go to the gym with her. And all-delayed. Training five to six times a week, "drying", proper nutrition. I lost about ten kilos in three months. Then there were competitions in bodybuilding and fitness: she became the first in the open tournament of the Belgorod region, vice-champion at the international tournament " Iron Lion "in the category" Model Fitness", entered the top 6 at the Belarusian championship.

Inspired by family and Maxim Gorky

For her success, Angelina is grateful to the people who believe in her:

Russian language teacher Valentina Nesterenko instilled in me a love of literature and art. Thanks to her, I began to write poetry and participate in a reading contest. My boyfriend, whom I've known since high school, is Maxim Gorky. He is far from creative, found himself in the military field, but supports all my initiatives. Just like my mother Elena Nikolaevna. She taught me how to play the guitar, took me to a vocal studio, and allowed me to get a job as a singer in a cafe at the age of 14. I made my first money there, and at the age of 17 I tried my hand at being a waitress. When the time came to decide on a profession, I was overcome by my passion for languages: I chose the Faculty of Foreign Languages of Mogilev State University named after A. A. Kuleshov. I improved my English and studied French. By the way, I received my diploma at the same time as my mother. A hairdresser-makeup artist, she always wanted to become a psychologist, graduated from the Maxim Tank Belarusian State Pedagogical University. I also tell my students: age is not a hindrance to your dream, if you want to achieve something, make an effort.

When asked why, having received the specialty of a translator and a foreign language teacher, she became a teacher in a rural school, Angelina answers::

– I love children, I like to be around them every day, teach them something, inspire them to do something. The Kadinsky school has a great team: the director and mentors have welcomed me warmly, and they support me in my work and creative endeavors. Here are excellent conditions, a decent salary.

Angelina calls herself a strict teacher. Although she never raised her voice to the students. Her rule is never to shout:

– If the children are noisy, I just shut up. And this silence affects them better than any shout. We also agreed from day one that they wouldn't lie to me. Because trust is easy to lose, but difficult to regain. If you didn't do your homework, didn't learn your lesson, you were allowed to come up before the bell rang and confess. But this "benefit" can only be used twice a year by the student. The guys do not abuse it, they always honestly explain why they came unprepared. It is even more pleasant that they turn to me for advice not only as a teacher, but also as a person. This is probably the highest form of trust.

Tatyana Gospodareva, Deputy Director for Academic Affairs of Kadinskaya Secondary School, praises the young teacher:

- Angelina Dmitrievna in the first year of work represented our school at the district competition "Best young specialist", took third place. She was also entrusted with the classroom management, realizing that she easily finds a common language with children and their parents. The school needs smart young personnel: the future of the country largely depends on what knowledge mentors will give students.

Angelina recently signed up for a dance class and is learning to draw, because she is sure that youth is the best time to accumulate skills and knowledge. And it is worth accumulating them so that there is something to share with children.
