SPECIAL CARS WERE DONATED TO SOCIAL SERVICE INSTITUTIONS IN THE MOGILEV REGION

26 October 2023

Starting this year, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection has undertaken to renew the vehicle fleet of social service institutions. 39 vehicles were purchased centrally. All of them are made in the same style, equipped with lifting devices and have technical devices to ensure safe movement. Today, a solemn ceremony took place to transfer 13 special passenger cars to social service institutions in the Gomel and Mogilev regions.

– Next year our industry will turn 105 years old. The social protection system has been built. But we do not stand still: we move and develop. Life expectancy in our country is increasing. There are, of course, sad statistics: the number of disabled people is growing. For different reasons. Social protection is aimed primarily at helping people who find themselves in difficult life situations. And when there are no relatives next to such a person who has lost his health, the state takes upon itself all support, care and attention,” noted Minister of Labor and Social Protection Irina Kostevich at the event . – We have 146 territorial social service centers in our system. They are in every regional center. Their goal is to provide social services to the population as much as possible. There are also 91 boarding houses in the country. We are interested in making our social services available to all citizens of the country, regardless of their state of health and where they live. And to ensure the mobility of disabled people and the elderly, we need modern and comfortable transport. We have it, but of different standards, different years of production. Seeing this diversity, it was decided to switch to centralized vehicle purchases and have our own unified transport standard. First of all, it is for people with musculoskeletal disorders. In our country, 25 thousand people move using a wheelchair.
