The regional stage of the action “Restoration of the shrines of Belarus” has ended in the Mogilev region

25 September 2023

The youth of the Shklov region, activists of the Mogilev regional and Shklov district committees of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union, as well as volunteers of the “Kind Heart” movement took part in the regional stage of the republican charitable interfaith event “Restoration of the Shrines of Belarus. We are united by history and faith.”

The action united children in the village of Velikiye Lozitsy, Shklovsky district. Students from Govyadskaya Secondary School became active participants in the charity. 20 people worked on the territory of the Church of the Intercession of the Mother of God.

The task before the volunteers and participants was serious. It was necessary to remove dead wood and various weeds, remove alluvial debris, branches and leaves. As Arina Safonkina , chief specialist of the department of program and organizational and personnel work of the Mogilev regional committee of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union , noted, everyone approached the work very responsibly. “The traditional action to restore order in the territories of shrines always attracts a large number of active young people. And most importantly, children of different ages take part in the action - pioneers, schoolchildren, students, working youth. This suggests that our youth understand how important it is to preserve our history, take care of our culture and shrines,” she noted. “It’s also nice that the guys themselves take the initiative and express a desire to provide all possible help.”

Upon completion of the improvement work on the temple grounds, the participants of the action were given a tour, during which they told not only about the history of the shrine, but also about the settlement and the Shklovsky district.

Another important point of the action was the installation of a special information sign with a QR code. Its installation became part of the international interactive historical and patriotic project “Digital Star” - “Let's save history together.”

The action in the Shklovsky district became the final stage of the republican project. In total, about 50 such events were held throughout the region, in which more than 700 volunteers took part.
