A career guidance lesson for schoolchildren of the region “Serving the Motherland as a Sacred Cause” was held in Mogilev on the basis of the Special Police Department of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee, the regional department reported.
As told in the Department of Internal Affairs, such a patriotic action is being held at the initiative of the leadership of the Department of Internal Affairs in this place for the second time. This year it turned out to be much bigger. Even a heavy snowfall did not frighten the children - more than 750 students of different ages from educational institutions of the city and districts of the region gathered in Mogilev. Pupils of the Kostyukovichi military-patriotic club "Zubr", students of the regional cadet school named after the Hero of the Soviet Union E. Nikolaenko, representatives of the specialized legal class of the Mogilev gymnasium No. 3 also came to the base. The youth was accompanied by deputy chiefs for ideological work and staffing of the regional police departments, teachers, curators and parents.
During the opening of the event, Colonel of Militia Sergey Krasnov, Deputy Head of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee, addressed the schoolchildren with a welcoming speech. “It's nice that our career guidance event was attended by so many high school students. This suggests that work in the police is interesting for young people. Today's event will strengthen the feeling of patriotism, as well as help to decide on the choice of the profession of an employee of the internal affairs bodies,” he said.
Words of greeting and parting words were also addressed to the audience by the commander of the special police detachment of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee, Colonel of Militia Nikolai Gorelikov.
For teenagers, they prepared a demonstration performance by OMON. With admiration, the guys watched the execution of the main commands of the general training course by service dogs, as well as the demonstration of the detention of a conditional criminal. Also, schoolchildren were able to get acquainted with the latest special equipment and weapons of the OMON and GAI ATC, took part in several sports competitions, and then refreshed themselves with hot soldier's porridge. Everyone could learn the secrets of successful admission to the Academy and the Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as admission to the service in the internal affairs bodies.
At the end of the career guidance campaign, an awards ceremony was held. The participants who demonstrated the best results in pneumatic shooting, dismantling a Kalashnikov assault rifle and pulling up were awarded diplomas and valuable gifts.
