Ambassador opines on state and prospects for China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone

The China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone is an important cooperation project within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, outgoing Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Belarus Xie Xiaoyong told the media after a meeting with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko on 5 September, BelTA has learned.

"During my term as China's Ambassador to Belarus, I have witnessed and participated in numerous joint projects. However, the most important of them is undoubtedly the China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone. The leaders of the two countries pay close attention to it. The park is called the gem of the Belt and Road Initiative," Xie Xiaoyong emphasized.

"Despite all challenges, the project has become a success story," the ambassador remarked. "Currently 134 resident companies from 13 countries are working in the park. The investments of the resident companies totaled around $1.5 billion."

Ambassador Xie Xiaoyong stressed that park's development potential is great. "In the first half of this year the park welcomed 26 new resident companies. This speaks volumes. In time, it will have even more resident companies," he summarized.
