Minsk to host international conference on Eurasian security in October

MINSK, 20 June (BelTA) - The international conference "Eurasian security: Reality and prospects in a transforming world" will be organized in Minsk on 26-27 October, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik told the media after the meeting of the CSTO Ministerial Council in Minsk on 20 June BelTA has learned.

"We intend to invite a wide range of countries and participants to discuss ways out of the current crisis and outline a promising security framework in our Eurasian space. We hope that we will be able to have a frank dialogue between all parties, which will help build bridges," Sergei Aleinik said.

He stressed that the CSTO has always been an exclusively defensive alliance committed to peace and development. "All members of our organization are united in this. This was once again clearly felt today, in the run-up to 22 June, the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow, the Day of National Remembrance of the Victims of the Great Patriotic War, which is dear to all of us," the minister said.
