Participants of the Children's Economic Forum presented more than 30 business projects in Mogilev region

In Mogilev region, participants of the Children's economic forum presented more than 30 business projects. The event was held for the third time and became part of the program of the V Investment Forum "Mogilev region-territory of opportunities".

About 140 students and pupils of educational institutions of the district took part in the children's economic forum. The event was held in Buinichi secondary school. There are presentation platforms where children and teenagers talked about their initiatives, which they worked on together with teachers for several months. Completely different projects were presented for implementation - from handmade products from recycled materials and the production of herbal tea to the production of vermicompost and the arrangement of a flower farm.

"During the economic forum, children are taught financial literacy and are required to present works with economic benefits," said Natalia Kolos, Head of the Education Department of the Mahiliou District Executive Committee. - Children also learn to calculate whether the sale of a particular product will be profitable. Among the most unusual jobs that really surprised me were growing California worms and producing vermicompost. It turned out to be very profitable and does not require large costs."

According to Natalia Kolos, the main idea of the forum is to make sure that a child can earn money through their research work. The presented ideas are supported at the level of educational institutions and are implemented throughout the year, including with the involvement of sponsorship. "Both schoolchildren and children of kindergarten age are involved in projects - no one is left out," she notes. - Our goal is not only to interest them in research activities, but also to teach them to appreciate and count money, to be able to distribute their finances. After all, often even in adult life, people do not know how to save or use money correctly, so that, for example, they can pay bills without delay, plan their budget."

"Thanks to financial literacy, graduates of our educational institutions will have good economic thinking, which will contribute to the development of the Belarusian economy," Natalia Kolos stressed. - The education system takes on this important function - to train children in all areas, to give them the necessary knowledge outside the curriculum. It is valuable when children learn to think."
