Winners of the Republican school Sports Contest awarded in Mogilev

The Mogilev State Electrotechnical College hosted an award ceremony following the performance of national teams in sports at the Republican School Sports Contest - 2023 and summing up the results of regional year-round sports contests among educational institutions.

The event was held as part of the Republican Week of Sports and Health.

Andrey Zablotsky, Head of the Main Department for Education of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee, noted the importance of holding the Sports Contest and involving schoolchildren in sports.:

- Mogilev oblast pays more attention not so much to the victory in the final stage of the Republican Sports Contest, but to the participation in it, the development of physical culture, sports and a healthy lifestyle among children and youth. The main goal is for these competitions to reach as many students in the region as possible, which we do not divide into schoolchildren, pupils of youth sports schools or sections of sports and tourism departments. It is important that they are involved in physical education and sports. The more such interested children there are, the more we will raise the winners of the republican sports competitions, and in the future - world championships and even the Olympic Games.

Mogilev Region took the fourth place in the team championship of the Open Republican School Sports Contest 2023 in winter and summer sports. About 50 nominees took to the festive stage. During the ceremony, the best athletes and coaches received well-deserved diplomas, certificates and commendations.
